Diacom in partnership with IT Systems has been awarded a place on the Wireless Procurement Framework (for Schools and Educational Institutions). The framework has been created to provide advice and guidance regarding Wi-Fi networks in post-primary schools in Ireland. The target audience includes school authorities, school principals, teachers and those involved in the planning, provision and support of Wi-Fi in schools. Design Teams on all new school projects, extensions to existing schools projects and refurbishment and upgrading projects are recommended to refer to this document for guidance in the design of Wi-Fi Information and Communication Technology (ICT) installations in primary and post-primary schools.
The solution proposed by the partnership uses best of breed Enterprise level WiFi networks using advanced technology from Aerohive Networks with Dell Networking switches providing an enterprise level network backbone.
By including the partnership on the Framework the PDST have ratified this solution as one of their preferred technical solutions and certified that the partnership meets are the other requirements to supply Dept. of Eduction funded schools in Ireland.
